Life:
I got up early this morning to get a glass of water and saw baguette torn into pieces and left out on the counter. Too tired to question what happened I went back to bed.
Me: Wise, why is there bread all over the counter?
Wise: Oh I was drunk and wanted bread and I forgot.
Me: hahahahahah (breathes) My drunk little baby.
Wise: :(

we had a dinner of black/red beans + spanish rice with squash on the side. NYE festivities would include a picnic of sorts (see photo), beer, gin and chocolate chip cookies. Champagne to top off the night with a toast, a kiss and dancing to Eartha Kitt’s “Let’s Do It”.
Seems like things are off to a strong start.

1. Janaki (IRL)- Sweetest thing you’ll ever see or meet. Makes delicious treats, throws wonderful dinner partys and her pups not bad either. :p
2. Dr. Brown-Made me realize that it’s okay to be a complete (fashionable) nerd when you’re a 30-something black woman with a Ph.D. Loved her, loved her class and might take another one for shits and giggles.
4 best memories:
1. Standing outside in the cold during the inauguration with Wise for several hours. (So worth it, won’t do it again)
2. White Water Rafting at KZ’s wedding, being oh so pleased that I didn’t fall out.
3. Having my sister and nephew visit.
4. Wise turning 35 on the same day a single he produced went #1 on Billboard.
3 things you will miss:
1. Absolutely.
2. Nothing.
3. Worst two years of my life…I’m ready to move on.
2 things you will not miss:
1. Being broke, unemployed, underemployed and stressed.
2. Having no running water during the day for days on end at my condo.
New Year’s resolution:
1. Find a job that I don’t completely hate, get more involved on campus.
